Trying to reformat PC, nothing working

edited June 2009 in Science & Tech
Okay so I got hit with a backdoor trojan a couple of weeks ago. My computer is okay now, I can go online and open programs again, but I want to reformat it, or at least start over so I know I got rid of everything. I have been trying to do that and everything I've been doing is not working.

The latest thing I was told that should work is doing this:

http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/document?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&docid=3E48AE3870775D64E040A68F5B2877D4&journalid=6CC414DE2036CC87E040AE0AB5E1674E&Query=&SystemID=&ServiceTag=&contenttype=&os=&component=&lang=&doclang=&toggle=&dl=

But when I try F11 and CTRL nothing happens. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. :wtf:

Start the computer and just spam the HELL out ctrl+F11 at the same time. Just keep pressing it over and over and over and over. If it doesn't work, reboot and try again.

You're probably not pressing the keys at the right time.

Okay I got it, your right I had to press the keys like crazy.

Everything was restore, will that have taken all the viruses and trojans I had on my computer off? I just want to make sure I got ride of everything.

Yeah, a restore is the best thing you can possibly do for an infected PC. :) Great job and welcome to Icrontic.
