EX110 mouse issues

So after all the hilarity and issues at LAN with computers and stuff I get home and got my main back up and running correctly. Within 1-2 days my mouse "died" in the middle of L4D so I swapped batteries and played on. Then the issue started to happen frequently and I realized the mouse was shutting off, pushing the communication button on the bottom turned it back on and everything was gravy.
The issue got to be so bad I pulled out my original logitech optical usb mouse to use to game with so I would not have issues, but that mouse sucks now. Help/hints/suggestions, thinking about just grabbing a new usb mouse to be rid of these issues forever. The mouse and keyboard use the same sensor but the keyboard never drops. I have two sets and have changed sensors and mice.
