screen saver problem

edited July 2009 in Science & Tech
Hi. I have Windows XP Home SP3. My screen saver is set to turn on after 10 minutes of no activity...however, when it does turn on, it only seems to last for about 15 minutes before it automatically aborts (at which point my desktop appears on the screen). Can someone tell me how to fix this problem? I know that the screen saver should only abort when I disturb the mousepad or press a key..thanks.

Hi..actually I'm not sure what kind of a mouse it is. I have an HP Pavilion dv4000 laptop..but not sure about the type of mouse or how to check what type it is..

That answers my question, thanks. :)

Try shutting down all the programs in your system tray and see how the screensaver works.

Hi Thrax..when I shut down all of the programs in my system tray (antivirus, firewall, and secunia) the screen saver still expired automatically after about 15 minutes once again. Not sure what's the cause..
