unexpected firefox pop-up and check-up - fontas-x

Hi all,

you've been extremely helpful to me in the past, and I think it's time I did another check-up on my pc's health.
The most dubious behaviour I've noticed is that while browsing torrents specifically on 'noid, while visiting a page for a specific file, a pop-up will appear and ask for me to input username and password for a site called zybez dot 0fees dot net, which is a site I never heard of before. I just close that window and have never visited that site so far.

I am generally careful of what I visit and what I install and what emails I open, but I thought you should have a look at this. And another important thing is that for anti-malware and firewall protection, I use a, ahem, cracked version of eset's smart security, which I keep up to date using new username and password combinations I get from various shady sites.

I will be posting the HJT log shortly.

    Cracks/Kegens/Warez etc.

As you have admitted to, or the log(s) you've posted indicate that, you've used one or more of the above, we can not provide you with any help.

We do NOT knowingly provide help for anyone using any form of cracked software and/or Operating Systems.

In using the crack, the 'cracker' has broken the 'End User Licence Agreement' (EULA) of the product concerned.
The distribution and use of cracked software is illegal in almost every developed country.
They are also one of the biggest causes of infection.

This applies to Cracks, Keygens and Warez

As most other forums have the same policy, your best option is to format and re-install your operating system and programs from legitimate sources.

In the future I strongly suggest you stay away from using cracks and/or Keygens.
