Windows Stop Message 0x0000008E

Hi! I'm new to Icrontic and don't know much about computers. Just a few days ago I started experiencing some problems with my computer (I'm currently on another computer). I used it like I normally would (i.e. surf the web, use word processor, etc.) and the computer all of a sudden just restarted on it's own. It happened quite a few times. I scanned for viruses and other malware and my anti-virus and anti-spyware softwares did not detect anything. Since the problem persisted I decided to recover the computer, hoping the problem would go away. It didn't. After recovering it, my computer never finished fully rebooting. Sometimes it would freeze at a blank black screen. Sometimes, the screen would turn off while the computer is still on. And other times it would leave a message on a blue screen. Please help me figure out what the problem. I need my computer for school. Below is the stop message that I have been receiving:
" A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the Stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters.
Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup options, and then select Safe Mode.
Technical Information:
*** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x805EF38A, 0xB98C7BB4, 0x00000000)"

Hi! Thank you for replying. I read the article you linked. It sounds like the problem with my computer is the motherboard or processor because I have a already tried system recovery without success. If this is the case, where can I purchase a motherboard or processor? I have an HP Pavilion a1430n. Is this something I should replace myself or should I seek a professional? Also, how much would it cost to replace either or these components?
