Diamond All-In-Wonder HD Video Card Overheating?

edited August 2009 in Hardware
I'm trying to play Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2 with the all in wonder 512mb card. I have an AMD quad core and 4 gb ddr2 ram. For some reason the game keeps freezing up the computer or when I try to change the inventory, the game freezes up and all I can do is move the mouse a little bit. Alt-Ctr-Del doesn't even work and I have to reboot the computer. The card itself seems to get really hot, but I can't find a good video card fan on newegg, fry's, or tigerdirect that will fit the all-in-wonder card. Can anyone please help or offer some kind of solution?

thanks for the free video card software. I installed and ran the program. Everything works fine. I tried some other games and there weren't any problems. There are glithes in the game even after I updated it. Thanks for your help lordbean!

It might not be a good long term solution, but if you download the latest driver from ATI and use the Overdrive feature to under clock the card, slow it down by 20% or so to take some thermal load off it, and see if it improves your situation in game.

If it does, if you can tell us what specific model it is, perhaps we can help you find a better dual slot cooler. Frankly, some of the single slot coolers ATI referenced with its last two generations of product have been grossly undersized. Most modern graphics cards really need a decent dual slot cooler.

Ah, memories. That's how I discovered my 4850s were overheating - at about a 25% underclock they ran stable.
