I have a Toshiba laptop that doesn't have a disc for windows xp home and I need to do a reformat. Can anyone tell me how to do that. I'm using my iPhone to post this as the LT isn't connected to the net. Thanks for the help.
You must have the restore DVDs or an operating system to perform a restore on a Toshiba notebook. You'll have to contact the manufacturer to order a set of replacement discs for a nominal fee.
The Toshiba might have a restore partition on the hard drive already - when you boot up, look for messages like "Hit F10 for boot menu, hit F12 for restore" or something similar. My HP and my Lenovo both have restore partitions on the hard drive that you can either make disc backups of so you can reclaim the HDD space, or you can just restore straight from hard drive to make it easier.
