Who is going to Aion?

I quit WoW just for Aion ^^ and am wondering who else is going to start playing Aion to. I know Doc, Preacher are going to be joining. Also I want your opinon about that game. Will this be the game that stabs WoW in the heart? To those people that don't know Aion or have heard of it and want to see a video of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6gcmyw423A

P.S My second time making a new thread (:

I find it incredibly unlikely that another Korean MMO, in a western market overflowing with the corpses of failed Korean MMOs, made by a Korean company that has been largely unable to capture any significant western demographic with any of its several attempts, will do anything to dent World of Warcraft.

WoW has so much content and so much momentum that only Blizzard can topple Blizzard.

Nope. The only MMO I'm actually looking forward to these days is DDO Unlimited. Mostly because it's the only MMO that doesn't play like every other MMO.

I'm playing the beta now, and will likely to continue playing it for a while, if anything just to see the content and play with some old friends that will be playing as well.

As for the game play itself, you will find a large number of parallels to WoW. Overall, it probably won't feel quite as polished in its game mechanics, but graphically it's a better experience IMO.

I'm probably just scratching an MMO itch with Aion, but that's ok with me.

Every time I try a new MMO, I always end up wishing I was playing WoW or going back to WoW. I wish I could find something to make me say "no more WoW," but it's just not come around yet. I don't see it happening for a long time.

I think it'll be hard for myself to ever get back into WoW. After playing it pretty seriously for a couple years, MT'ing, guild officer, part-time raid leader... it'll be hard to ever get into it when I know that I won't be committing the same time and effort, which I'm not looking to do these days.

I'll play Aion. I'm still doubtful though because it is a Korean MMORPG and ultimate that just means endless grinding for pretty clothes.

Aion, is Stunning. the grind that is the 1.0 game, will be changed by the launhc version in NA, 1.5 or something like that. I got to play on Chinese servers up to almost lvl 30. the game is beautiful, its PvP focused, all end game is in a GIANT PvP area. and oh yeah, YOU HAVE F-IN WINGS! who cares if it can't touch a care0bare game like WoW, I can't keep myself interested in WoW long enough to get to a decent lvl. (i've given the game 2 chances to impress me, and it couldn't do it) I'm pumped for the release.

Not to mention about Doc point about WoW. Even tho they reduced the level of a mount purchasing and training the cost of it when your at 60+ is just too much i mean come on 5k gold? Not to mention blizzard maked this Northrend Flight Training crap. Plus blizzard can only beat blizzard? Nothing stays forever unfortionly. For example this has nothing to do with gaming but...it is a well pointed example. In U.S History Britain was one of the most powerful countries back when the United States was first born. Now think of the United States as Aion and think of Britain as WoW. U.S might of been a new country and low population for people and soldiers but they beat the Britain army when the country attacked U.S. So maybe you are right Aion might just plain suck and I might be wrong or Aion could be the new game that beats the most addictive game in the U.S. This still doesnt change the fact the Korea had acouple of sucky games in the past but, practist makes perfect i guess ^^

So after the Beta, does all of our character information (lvl stats etc) get wiped (for the official release? or is it like a super early-access special?

I just got my wings. I dont want to hardcore level right now if everything is going to reset.

Mortal Online will destroy this game in every aspect. I've known about Aion for about 6 years and people just recently started talking about it. I'm wondering when Mortal Online will be talked about.

So there is a head start for those who pre-ordered the CE edition. 48 hours before release.

    So the plan is....

    Asmodian side
    "Siel" server right?

    good.

I'm not sure which side I'll be playing on right now. As it stands I've made a commitment to play with a certain crew so I'll be rolling with them on release. Anyone who feels like it, is welcome to join along side, of course.

We'll likely be Elyos, server undetermined.

I pre-ordered it about a month ago. I have been taking a break from WoW since the beginning of summers so the game was a nice change of pace. Combat seems fluid so far and the graphics are quite nice. Planning to go Asmodian.

I took a look at Mortal Online this morning. From the looks of it, its got a long ways to go before its ready to be on the market.

Some of the gameplay mechanics they described sounded pretty neat, but I'm under the impression that they're a long ways off from having them implemented.

Yeah, i read about mortal when it was back in early developement. Its like oblivion in online form. Its scheduled to release end of the year, but i cant imagine it will.

Wow can be boring depending on your play style. When i started i enjoyed the lore, leveling, doing all the quests and following storylines. Now, i'm more into progression raiding which is perfect for my style of play. I get bored with wow after a few weeks of play which is usually just enough time to see all the new content. Then i quit for a few months until a new raid zone or expansion comes.

Nothing will ever touch WoW because mmo's become great over time. Blizzard has had 5 years to build on the mechanics, improve gameplay, and add content. It caiters to about every style of play there. world of warcraft is simpley a better game.

EQ2 was incredible. There were many aspects of that game that i enjoyed more than wow. The fact of the matter is blizzard is better at marketing and took over market. Most of the servers i played on in EQ2 are low population now, and i prefer to play with other people.

Uhh dude, first off Idk if there was a past aion but first of all the game is not even out yet and you havnt even played the beta. So saying that it's going to lose to some game that everyone in IC says it's not even going to be on the market yet. You can have your opinon about the game but Aion will succeed.
