HP dv7-1285 not posting?

Hi all,

Got this dv7 that just doesn't want to boot/post. Not getting screen visuals which is not terribly strange for these models but, the light next to the caps lock button and above the number pad flash 4 or five times each time I try to boot. Unit is known to be working, and nothing has changed since it was last on less than 24 hours ago. HDD was upgraded to 500GB with a working drive. I guess what I am wondering is if there is any reason a 500GB WD HDD would not work, and if these flashing lights are POST codes or what they might mean.

Any thoughts anyone might have would be appreciated.

    I seem to remember a manufacturer stored their BIOS on the HD. I cant remember if that was HP or not. Try the old HD and see if that still works. Then id go back in and make sure all your connectors are attached correctly.
