    You can't completely remove internet explorer. You can re-install it. Get another browser and just go to the MS site and download IE.

    Have a friend download a Firefox/Opera/Safari installer for you and put it on a flash drive?

    (1) I think you should go to the Internet Explorer Properties and click on the restore defaults.
    If after trying (1) does not work then try
    (2) I think that you should remove the Internet Explorer from the control panel and try to reinstall again the application. This will work fine.

    Yes...you can first try and reset IE by restoring defaults....otherwise you can also check what version of the IE you have...if you've updated to version 8, uninstall it from your add/remove programs, your IE will revert to version 7...

    ALSO IE 8 does not work too well if you have certain kinds of Anti-virus programs on your computer like Mc Afee for example...it gives you intermittent problems....so stay with version 7 (IE)

    if you are unable to uninstall version 8 from the installed updates...follow the following alternative steps...

    Alternative steps for Windows Vista or for Windows Server 2008

    ******** type=text/javascript> loadTOCNode(3, 'moreinformation'); </SCRIPT>To uninstall Internet Explorer 8, follow these steps:
    1. Carefully select and then copy the following command: FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-8*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /norestart"
    2. Click Start, and then type Cmd.exe in the Start Search box.
    3. In the list of programs, right-click Cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator.

      Note If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
    4. Right-click inside the Administrator: Command Prompt window, and then click Paste to paste the command that you copied in step 1.
    5. Press ENTER to uninstall Internet Explorer 8.
    6. When the uninstall program is finished, restart your computer.
    Alternative steps for Windows XP or for Windows Server 2003
