Keylogger?

Hi guys. Recently my WoW account got merged with a Battle.net account without my permission, it took me two weeks and several emails to get my account back. Just a few hours ago, it happened again. HOWEVER. This time, I had a battle.net account which I THOUGHT was merged with my WoW account. This was not the case, as it was re-merged with someone else. Their obviously had to be some link between my WoW account and the Battle.net account because I got this E-Mail:

Hello dfgdfgdfdfg,

This e-mail notification is in regards to a World of Warcraft account that has just been merged into a Battle.net account. If you were not the person who performed this account merge, please click here to contact Blizzard Support.

You have successfully merged the following World of Warcraft account:

<Login name>

into the following Battle.net account:

l***@hotmail.com

From now on, you must use the above Battle.net account name and its password to play World of Warcraft. In addition, use the above Battle.net account username and its password to log in to other Blizzard online services such as World of Warcraft Account Management, the World of Warcraft Armory, and the Blizzard Store.

Your World of Warcraft billing information has not been affected by this merge and is still accessed through World of Warcraft Account Management.

You should expect to receive a similar notification of this account merge which has also been sent to your Battle.net account e-mail address.

For more information, click here for answers to Frequently Asked Questions or to contact the Blizzard Billing & Account Services team.

Sincerely,
The Battle.net Account Team

I have contacted blizzard just like last time (I bookmarked the form which was incredibly hard to find) and will probably get a reply in a few days, I will then make sure I merge properly so this can't happen again.

Another detail; nothing was taken from the WoW account. This leads me to two conclusions. They're after gold for goldselling sites, but due to my low level (37 mage) and lack of gold they have little to take. However the second time my account was merged was literally seconds after I logged out to edit a screenshot, and then I attempted to log back in I got told it was merged. On the other hand it could be some stupid error because my friend who was online at the time saw nobody go on my account, but they may have simply not gone on a character after seeing my level. The same thing happened to him a few days ago and he got nothing taken and he is level 80. It could be a bug, or people simply trying to merge accounts to be annoying with no intention of taking anything, the name (dfgdfgdfg) seems to give this away. Anyway, I have gone off on a tangent.

Basically, I want to check if I have a key logger on my computer allowing people to get my account details. I have no reason to have a key logger as I haven't downloaded anything in the past few weeks.

Is there anything that can help me?

Sorry for being terribly unclear, please ask for more details / explanations of what I said above.

Thanks alot.

Reformat. Just wipe your PC. Virus scanners don't deal with Blizzard keyloggers well at all.

Ahh well the reason I haven't is that I only reformatted recently, a month or two ago at a push. I also have reason to believe it's not just me since it's happened to a friend, and over the night I had time to think. I can't get the idea out of my head that it's some guy(s) with a key gen simply inputting random codes 'till it links with a WoW account purely to be disruptive. However, I now sound ungrateful. I an very grateful for your help and if it happens again I shall reformat. When I get my account back I can properly merge it with a Battle.net account and hopefully this problem will be totally avoided.

    Thanks again.

You could always try one of the Blizzard Authenticator keyfobs. :) They're like $10.

*update* STILL waiting for a reply from Blizzard. In all I've lost about a month of play time. Anybody know a good way to get them to listen when I ask for compensation? My last forum post was quickly removed. Thanks
