acer aspire 6920 Agere Modem Foxconn Ubuntu Drivers?

Hello i have just finished installing Ubuntu on my laptop a ACER APSIRE 6920 and am starting my getting my modem running far as i can tell it's a Agere Modem Foxconn

any help would be great thanks kauf

    I would suggest following the instructions here first, specifically the ScanModem part to identify what chipset your modem uses. Unless your laptop was built specifically to run Linux, odds are the modem is what's called a softmodem which, last time I tried anyway, required a specific driver that was not free.
