Your missing a picture, AMD powernow is responsible for the 800mhz clock shown in the picture. The missing picture shows the CPU running at 1700Mhz at a higher voltage than 0.925V

24 cores in a dual-slot system is just beastly. I bet that thing could transcode a 2 hour movie in 2 minutes or less.

I'm so behind the times, I don't even have a quad core yet and they are coming out with a dozen core cpu. I know this will be fore servers but still.

Eh... don't feel bad Komete.... I'm still only running dual core systems as well. I might grab a Phenom II X3 when I get some spare cash but that's months away from now. As for the 12-core CPUs, I would LOVE to build myself a server based off that but sadly I am only rich in my dreams.

In an earlier post on this, I believe they stated there will be 4-socket boards for this chip. To that I say: Bring it on!

I'll bet one of those would pretty easily fit inside an Antec Twelve-hundred. 48-cores for me? Yes, please!

Yes, Magny is being positioned for 2p and 4p systems using Socket G34.
