100 CPU Usage when opening a Browswer

Hello.

My children are using a computer at their Grandad's house, and it takes forever for the browswer to "load" up, and it takes forever to go through links.

The computer is slow, and very sluggish, and in a painful way!

I would like to find what is "transmitting" out to the internet when the browser is activated, and I would like to "tweak" the system to make it faster. The CPU usage is showing 100%!!! Yikes!

If you would be kind enough to show me what "services" I can deactivate I would appreciate it so that the kids can play the games that we have bought from Nick JR.

What is your opinion of the software that is downloaded with the games from Nick Jr? It shows as a porn dialer. The computer is not connected to a phone line so I assume there is no risk from it.

I would like to keep the software that runs the HP printer, but I would be more than glad to remove all off the other HP software as it is only weighing down the computer, and it is not being used.

Someone has stolen a XP Pro disc that I have so I cannot use it to reload the OS in this computer. I have a valid code, and I would be willing to down load the XP OS, and start from scratch.

Thanks for allowing my 4 year old, and my 7 year to be able to play games again.

Please note that I removed this so that I could use the computer, and post here:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ctfmon.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe

The CPU does not stay pegged at 100% as before.

    Hey there. :)

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware by clicking the link below:
    http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

    * Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    * Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
    * The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    * When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
    * The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
    * You'll be required to post the contents of this log later.

    Please Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Next let's have you download ComboFix.exe. Please visit this webpage for downloading and instructions for running the tool:

Go here ======> A guide and tutorial on using ComboFix <====== Go here

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first. This applies to XP Pro and XP Home users only.If you have SP3 installed you will need to use the download meant for SP2.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should get a prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

    Please continue as follows:

    (1) Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
    (2) Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the MBAM log, C:\ComboFix.txt as well as a new HijackThis log for further review, so that we may continue cleansing the system.

Caution: Never run and remove files with Combofix unless supervised by a qualified security analyst who is experienced in the use of Combofix. Misuse can cause serious computer problems.

There is a program on your computer called IWinGames.
Some have classified it as adware.
    IWINGAMESHOOKIE.DLL - {8CA5ED52-F3FB-4414-A105-2E3491156990} - Adware.IWinGames.BHO
iwin.com | Web Safety Ratings from McAfee SiteAdvisor

If you would like to remove it, go to My Computer > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall iWin Games if present.

After uninstallation, reboot your computer. Then navigate to the following folders and delete them if still present:
    c:\program files\iWin Games
    c:\program files\iWin.com

    ==================

Next, we'll have to update Java as it is outdated and may render your computer vulnerable to exploits.

Please download JavaRa to your desktop and unzip it to its own folder
    • Run JavaRa.exe, pick the language of your choice and click Select. Then click Remove Older Versions.
    • Accept any prompts.
    • Open JavaRa.exe again and select Search For Updates.
    • Select Update Using Sun Java's Website then click Search and click on the Open Webpage button. Download and install the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version for your computer.

    ==================

Finally, post new ComboFix and HijackThis logs, as well as let me know how your PC is running now.

    Hello!

I removed Iwin from ADD/REMOVE, and then I did a search for IWIN, and removed all of those files, and DRMs (gameplay timeouts).

    I updated the Java.

The computer is running much better. It appears that the computer is sluggish while trying to use the softwares, or during downloads. I believe this may be more related to the hard drive, and that may need replacing.

OK. Let's have a final check with Panda ActiveScan.

    Click Panda ActiveScan.
    • Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
    • A new window will open...click the Check Now button
    • Enter your Country
    • Enter your State/Province
    • Enter your e-mail address and click send
    • Select either Home User or Company
    • Click the big Scan Now button
    • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
    • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
    • When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
    • When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report.
