Ugh, and I just bought a GTX 285 2 months ago. Looks like it's going in the toilet in favor of an HD5870...

It'll probably actually end up folding in my E6600.

The GPUs look fantastic but the release events are a little strange. 6 display ports were showed off on September 10th and the rest of the GPU will be revealed on September 22nd. AMD/ATI is probably trying to elevate the level of excitement and I suspect it will not be all hype.

If the HD 5870X2 isn't coming for a while that $600 price looks a lot more reasonable and the $400 HD 5870 much more believable. The HD 5870x2 probably won't come until early next year when the HD 5870 is $300 or less.

Seriously, I have not been this excited about a computer part since the 9700 pro.

Or, just send me the GTX285 and I'll "recycle" it for you ;)
