    Nice... now I just need to wait a few weeks for the ensuing price drops and order my 4890.

    I was one of the lucky guys to get this card on Newegg tonight. I bet it sold out in like 5 min...

    LOL

    Do want. Badly. I'm due for an upgrade, and DX11 is, well, relevant to my interests.

    But seriously, the front vents on that card make it look like the frigging Batmobile from the Adam West days.

    I promise I didn't get the news from you, Patrick. Check your logs, I've never been to your site in my life :rolleyes:

    Sorry about that, someone had pointed me in the wrong direction.

    In other notes, your alexa ratings are nice for being 9 years old. While we're only 1.

    @Patrick:

    No harm, no foul. I'm glad we got this sorted out in a hurry. :) I do apologize for my stiff reaction to your original posts... As a journo/writer, I try very hard to keep my citations and sourcing in line because credibility means the world to me. I didn't take very kindly to essentially being accused of stealing.

    But it was a misunderstanding, it's water under the bridge, and now we can all get on with it. Cheers, sir. :D

    :D

    So do you think this would be worth selling my water cooled GTX285 SSC?

    Well, if early performance indicators are right, the 5870 is about 40-50% faster than the Radeon 4890 or the GTX 285. That means it's on par with SLI/CF configurations using two single-GPU cards.

    I know a water cooled 285 has some serious oomph to it, but I bet it still can't keep up with that kind of performance advantage. :) If you've got $380 bones to drop, I'd say it's a no-brainer. I don't, and I still think it's a no-brainer.

    Not to mention the DX11 compatibility. In my world, that alone is worth the price of admission.

    ZipZoomFly also has two 5870s listed, HIS(399.99) and Diamond(379.99). They also have two 5850s listed, Diamond(259.99) and HIS(259.99). They have auto-notify for the items if you are trying to snag the first runs.

    Looks like the XFX model is currently available for purchase on Newegg. The Saphire bundle seems better though, it includes an additional game.
