No harm, no foul. I'm glad we got this sorted out in a hurry. I do apologize for my stiff reaction to your original posts... As a journo/writer, I try very hard to keep my citations and sourcing in line because credibility means the world to me. I didn't take very kindly to essentially being accused of stealing.
But it was a misunderstanding, it's water under the bridge, and now we can all get on with it. Cheers, sir.
Well, if early performance indicators are right, the 5870 is about 40-50% faster than the Radeon 4890 or the GTX 285. That means it's on par with SLI/CF configurations using two single-GPU cards.
I know a water cooled 285 has some serious oomph to it, but I bet it still can't keep up with that kind of performance advantage. If you've got $380 bones to drop, I'd say it's a no-brainer. I don't, and I still think it's a no-brainer.

Not to mention the DX11 compatibility. In my world, that alone is worth the price of admission.
ZipZoomFly also has two 5870s listed, HIS(399.99) and Diamond(379.99). They also have two 5850s listed, Diamond(259.99) and HIS(259.99). They have auto-notify for the items if you are trying to snag the first runs.

Wanna buy a lightly used 1GB Vapor X Saphire Radeon 4870?
I "need" to upgrade

Do want. Badly. I'm due for an upgrade, and DX11 is, well, relevant to my interests.
But seriously, the front vents on that card make it look like the frigging Batmobile from the Adam West days.
In other notes, your alexa ratings are nice for being 9 years old. While we're only 1.

So do you think this would be worth selling my water cooled GTX285 SSC?
