Gigabyte GA-8TRS300M Motherboard Review

MediaManMediaMan Powered by loose parts.

Wow...it's been a while for the Mediaman. Christmas, work 24/7/365 and trying to move a house (still boxing up...groan)...I'm sure I accidentally boxed up my PC for a couple of weeks. :eek2:

Gigabyte introduces a value motherboard centered around ATI's Radeon 9100 IGP. The Gigabyte GA-8TRS300M utilizes the Radeon 9100 Integrated Graphics Processor to deliver a competitor to take on competitive budget systems with INTEL integrated graphics or systems with low end AGP video cards. The engineers at Gigabyte have chosen not to include TV-out or 1394 with the GA-8TRS300M which may allow for a more aggressive pricing strategy against the handful of other manufacturers who are also producing motherboards based on the ATI 9100 IGP.

Give it a read.

Damn, i have missed your articles.

Could you test that board with a 9700/9800? Not a review, but a few results would be nice. I'm in the market for a mATX barebone style and the 2.4/2.6C has really reached a good pricepoint. The AMD options isn't that stable for a Barebone yet IMO.

    Thanks Mackanz. :)

By Feb 5th. the Canadian division of SM should be relocated and all set up in the new "offices". Space to expand, take apart, discombooberate, etc.

Now about your mATX board. I haven't experienced any problems with the 9700 or 9800 pro on the mATX AMD boards that I've used. But when I get the chance I'll throw the 9700 on this board and see if it goes into convulsions or not.
