Well, after more problems and frustration than should be allowed by law, I've fianlly begun Folding.
I have built a dedicated computer to Fold 24/7.
Couple of questions.
I would like to add some form of signature to my posts here, showing that I Fold, and my stats. Do I need to network the 2 computers together, so that thery are updated?
Will I need to/should I run maintence (defrag, etc) on my computer?
If there are any other points I should do, please- fire away!
I really want to thank all of you for this forum. I have been reading the forum for a while, and by going through the threads, I have gotten a lot of my questions answered.

There's everything you need to know.

Stanford keeps track of the stats, so you don't need to network your computers together or anything like that.

You can get a sig here. But you'll need to wait a day or so until your first work unit (WU) is received by stanford, for your username to show up on the list.

prime gave you the link to the sig generator.

All the computer needs is internet access when its done with a WU. While its working it doesnt need internet. Its prolly best to network them with a router or switch so that you dont have switch cables when a WU is done. They dont have to be able to share files but rather have net access.

You dont have to defrag because most likely you will not be using this computer much if its dedicated folding. There wont be any files being moved across the HDD for it to become defragged.

For best points/hour add -advmethods behding the target line in a shortcut. If its an AMD then -forcesse as well with the latest client.

If you have any more questions please do ask.
