I can't imagine nvidia officially thinking that the DX11 deal with dirt is a bad thing. The more people that are developing for DX11 the better, especially this early on.
It could be covering their tracks, mostly if they're butthurt that AMD beat them out of the gate to DX11. But if NVIDIA are confident in their GT300 series, they'd have no reason to act in such a manner.
I have to admit, the whole things seems fishy to me. I really hope TweakTown reveals their source or at least elaborates on who gave them that info.
