RAID 1 in Windows XP with no hardware controller

edited November 2005 in Hardware
Alright, here is my problem

my boss has given me 2 days to figure out how to make a particular system perform a mirror like action without a raid controller. the system has two 80GB hard drives and is running windows XP. all my boss told me is that he wants windows to write the same information to both drives at all times. i have no clue how to do this is their any way to get it done?

you need three partitions for that:

1: The windows XP system partition
    2: Data "A"
    3: Mirror of Data "A"

Parts. 2 and 3 must be the same size, so with two 80's, you'll probably slice 10gb off the top of each one, giving you a 70gb data partition.

You format the 10gb partition, install XP on it, and then once XP is installed, right click my computer --> manage --> disk management. Convert the drives to dynamic and then you'll be able to add them to a "mirrored" array.
