When I see the picture, I think, "Sweet, a PSP for about the price of a DS, maybe I'll finally get one."

Then I see the price tag.

LOL.. I just got one today, and since I only have 3 UMD games from my 1000, I'm not too upset about the lack of a drive. First things first..

    I love it!

It's a great size, the bluetooth is AWESOME and using a PS3 controller to play GT PSP is way too much fun. all in all, I'm extremely happy with it.

Oh, the new update that came out yesterday for the PSP allows for internet tethering over BT via a cell phone.. so it's the ultimate portable.

lol.... 'shoulda bought an ipod touch...'

naw... I've been debating that, but in the end, I don't need another mp3 player. I just wanted something that works with my PS3 - the ipod.. well obviously, it doesn't.

I may eventually get one, but aside from a few games, I have no use for one right now. My phone has an EXCELLENT mp3/video/podcast/etc player ( www.kinoma.com ) and I plan on getting a new phone in the next couple of weeks (ATT Tilt II aka Touch Pro 2)

Wait, you're using a PS3 controller that's the size of the PSP to play the PSP?

Check it out. The PSP goes with you on a trip. Biz/pleasure. You get to your hotel and plug it into the tv. Plop down on the couch or bed, and bam, you've got your games, movies, and access to your PS3 at home. IMO, that's pretty damned cool.

This may make the PSP 3000 inexpensive enough for me to consider buying. Otherwise though, what a pitiful waste of hardware.

I still don't understand why everyone is bashing this thing. It works WONDERFULLY and since I only have a handful of useless UMD softwares, it's not a big deal to me that they don't work with it. To me, UMD does not equal portability. If I have to lug around a bag full of crap with me in order to watch or play them, I'm not going to be (and my PSP 1001 is evidence of this) interested in it for long. The Go puts it all in an EXTREMELY compact form factor and gives you some pretty cool new features.

and it allows you to access it over STATE OF THE ART wireless b. Seriously, who in their right mind releases a device with wifi and doesn't support at least g if not n in 2009?

    1) Rebuy software.
    2) Existing PSP library is meaningless.
    3) Wireless B?
    4) $$$$$$$$$$$$

The smaller screen and tiny controls do it for me. Will not buy, that's all. No malice towards it, really.

I much prefer my DS it's way cheaper, it's far better for modding and if I want the added funtionality for Skype or other gaming I'd get an ITouch for less and have it do way more.

i admit, I'm a sony fanboy, i have ps1 (not psONE), ps2, ps3 and the first gen psp.

i won't be buying the psp go, the one reason and the only thing that i care about is wireless b.
seriously, WTF? wireless B? i dont care about price, i mean really? it is sony so i expect it to be pricey but i also expect top of the line tech (the original psp should have had G) the psp go should have draft G+N.

What a joke !!! All the investment I have made in my previous PSP games, and there is no way to transfer them to the new PSP GO. Who are the clever gurus in Sony that make these decisions ? Sony - you are dreaming. Why would anyone buy a PSP GO ? Interesting to see that Nedgame has decided to boycott the PSP GO. Sony, you had such a good opportunity to embrace the gamer industry, but through greed & stupidity, you have failed miserably.

LOL... I still don't see a good reason NOT to buy it.. Yes, yes.. if I had a huge library of UMD games, sure, I could see it.. but 802.11 B doesnt matter because I only use wifi for downloading the games if I'm not near my PS3 or Laptop (or cell phone for that matter) and since I only had 4 UMDs with games that I never play anymore, I don't care about that...

The form factor is better to travel with etc.. I guess I just really perfectly fit the demographic they were looking for with this. People made similar arguments when the first MP3 players hit the scene (oh no, have to buy the white album... AGAIN!?)

Check out the size next to my phones (the one in the middle is the new Tilt 2 and it's about the same size as the iphone - screen is a bit larger.)

I highly doubt anyone made this argument since, by the time Mp3 players came out, the tools to convert CDs into Mp3 were very well known and widespread.

Yes, but I'm still quite certain that you have to re-buy and download the games on the Wii from the NES, SNES, Genesis, etc and I don't see anyone complaining about that....

At 1/8th the price of the original title, instead of 1:1.
