    Did you find out yet? Is it possible to replace that file with the OS Disc?
    Or can I only reformat?

    Do you have a floppy disk? You can get a win98 boot disk from here. Boot from the floppy disk (How?) and at the dos prompt type
    fdisk /mbr
    Wait a while and reboot. Then let me know once this is done.

    um.. I have a floppy disk, but I don't have anywhere to put the floppy disc in my computer.
    They are only CD drives, and USB ports.

    It's the same. Copy it to a CD and once loaded you want a cmd prompt or recover console and the command is the same. Type
    fdisk /mbr
