It really depends on what games she finds enjoyable. If she likes shooters for example then most of my suggestions would be useless. But from my experience most "neutral" games that anyone can pick up, play and enjoy are:
Competitive Puzzle genre:
"Bomberman Live" (the DLC one) is a great competitive puzzle game for the 360. You can play together both offline and online. Its a blast (pun not intended). Its only 800 MS points and well worth the purchase.
"Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix" is another great competitive puzzle game. Its been a hit at ICHQ. Again only 800 MS points.
"Bust-A-Move Live" another great puzzle game where you shoot colored crystal gems in an attempt to link 3 or more of the same kind to get them to explode. Cute, fun and fast paced.
Coop Puzzle:
"Beautiful Katamari" you roll a katamari which is a sticky ball that rolls up anything it touches. You try to roll the biggest katamari in time allotted. Its fun and I think its on sale for $20.
The only xbox games my wife is interested in are Rockband and a few of the Xbox Arcade Puzzle games, which I can't remember the name of now. But they are all 'cute' and kinda old school feeling.
Mostly she prefers the Wii for games like Boom Blox, some Surgery game and Super Mario.

wow, lots of responses, She loves starcraft and LOTR BFMEII all the way to fighting games like soul caliber and VF, Even kid games like animal crossing, so she is really flexible as far as its a good game and its with me, I am branching out to a console so i can still get my game on but also spend time with her! and yes its a 360 and I chose the 360 just on the fact I love halo multi player COD4 Multi and it streams my netflix

Gnome, what is she open to? Would she play something like Castle Crashers? Cause man, multiplayer castle crashers is a rip-roaring good time.
Thus, troll
As for the question at hand, seeing as how I'm single and have been for freaking ever... I have nothing of value to add to this conversation. Crap.
