We should all grab accounts (if they're still allowing registrations) and create some super 90's style pages as a tribute to them before they shut it all down.
Yup, got my message that my Geocities account was going to be closed....then I was confused because I thought the last one wasn't linked to that e-mail address. And, oh Angelfire how I miss you. We had great times together.
That's what I love about the internet. It's simple, continually evolve, or die. In a way is fairer than life itself.
Funny thing is, I thought GeoCities was gone before I read this. It was an ancient memory for me, I honestly have not uttered that name for nearly a decade.. See, you learn something new every day.
Ah man... I remember the days when I was first able to get high speed internet access in college... I have an incredibly awesome website on geocities... http://geocities.com/crazyjoe_2002/ Check out the wonders... Webrings, pictures linked from other sites, links to other Nexlians... The late 90s were awesome!!
I've been told my old website is like a trip back to the 90s. HTTP://www.foolkiller.com if you want that retro feeling, heh. Also my page lies, I haven't touched the thing in almost a decade now.

Yeah, it breaks all the rules of modern design, but I just don't have the heart to take it down. I also don't want to spend any effort updating it either. It is a nice reminder of my teenage years though.

That's helping me cope with the end of Geocities
