About a year ago I was really excited about Ubuntu, about what it was doing, about what it could potentially become. With all the work Microsoft has done in the past year to prepare everyone for Windows 7, I just don't see where it serves me to bother with Linux in the future. I want to out of principle, I really do, but why do I want to struggle to find a printer driver, or to get DVD playback to work out of the box when I can just have everything I need for a reasonable price with Windows 7. Microsoft has finally made a truly elegant modern OS, and they are going to market with the enthusiast community heavily backing them.
Linux needed to be making this push at least a year ago, now its too late.
