I mean seriously; this looks like a major motion picture and I want it to be true so so so so so badly.
Half Life 2 has an absolutely incredible story; it is the deepest, most emotionally charged video game I've ever played. For years I've dreaded some studio mogul getting their hands on it and completely bitching it up with garbage and comic relief and all around Video-Game-To-Movie shittiness.
Then I see this; the Purchase Brothers people are CLEARLY fans. This is 100% fan service, and not only that, it is immensely high quality fan service. Valve could give these guys a million bucks, have them make a feature film, and have the most incredible video game marketing tool ever EVER made on their hands.
It would be more effective and way cheaper than spending $25 million on television and banner ads, that's for sure.
The VFX is astounding in this production, and everything about the looks, the cinematography, the acting, it's all top notch.
The note of a good short-film production? They're not afraid to use black.
I cannot WAIT to watch this.
And Prime, I totally second your remarks. The HL series is one of the best examples of emotional ties to the characters that I can think of. I care about the characters and the story, it is completely compelling.
Purchase brothers know the canon, and they know filmmaking. They're not out to make an easy blockbuster, they completely paying homage to a franchise that they clearly love.

Go play Metal Gear Solid 3 and don't choke up at the end. I dare you.
