Can't access linksys router's browser config

edited October 2009 in Science & Tech
Hey
I've been searching a number of forums, trying to figure out how to access the browser configuration for my linksys wireless router.
Have tried the default 192.168.1.1. Doesn't work.
Have looked up default gateway. It's 24.41.40.97. Tried that and it doesn't work. I get the standard "failed to connect" or "page cannot be displayed message". Have tried holding down the reset button on the router and unplugging it for a while. Nothing seems to work. Please help I have no idea what I'm doing!

    Try one of these:
    192.168.0.1
    192.168.1.100
    192.168.10.1
    192.168.100.1

192.168.100.1 just took me to the cable modem setup page. None of the others did anything.

Come to think of it, with a gateway of 24.41.40.97, your router is not hooked up correctly. The gateway should be the address you tried, or one of the addresses I suggested.

Your modem needs to connect via ethernet cable to the UPLINK port on your router. Then you need to make sure you're connecting to the right wireless network with your PC.
