I am overjoyed to finally see minimum/recommended hardware specs that aren't tailored to the horsepower of a toaster.
//EDIT: You know, I'm also interested to see how a game like this performs for real. Many games being pawned as AAA PC titles are just console ports, or games that were programmed with consoles in mind. Having a title exclusively optimized for PC hardware and modern GPU architecture intrigues me.
Seriously, if you want to be a serious PC gamer going forward you more or less need to take the leap of faith off of mount XP and dive into the lush oasis that is Windows 7. XP limits you to DirectX 9 and that just aint going to cut it going forward.
"I CAME TO COMMENT To tell you that I am not interested in this game that I cannot play on my platform of choice, to inform you all that my viewpoint should be very important. I hope that I raise your ire enough to return fire so that we can continue in what will prove to be a fruitless and ultimately unfulfilling repartee."
I'm pissed off that this game won't run on my Dell GX1 running Win98. If I want to play a cutting edge game and have the characters looks as blocky as Gumby I should be able to do that... It's ok, my SNES is good enough gaming for me... 16 bit gaming is just fine...
Did somebody really just greentext and go all implying on us in our comments? What is this, 4chan /v/?
I can't wait for this game. I'm with Thrax, I'm overjoyed to see a game that requires the top tier hardware percentile to play. no excuses, no compromises. Push the technology boundaries and give the PC platform it's deserved focus on the ultra high-end.
This pisses me off. I want a game I can run. I have a 1.6 ghz dual core processor and 3 gigs of ram. Wow, my parents are cheap! I will have to ask for a 2.8 quad for Christmas. Damn, that is a lot of money.
I have a Core 2 Duo clocked to 3.5GHz, 4GB of RAM and a GTX 275. I can run this game at 1680x1050, max in-game settings, 8xCSAA and 16xAA just fine. Framerates are above 30 at all times, and no stuttering. Runs beautifully.

So buy games you can run. Nobody said you have to buy Shattered Horizons. Play some Tales of Monkey Island or Machinarium. It's not like you're automatically entitled to every game that comes out or something...

If you want to play top-tier games, you'll need to invest in top-tier hardware.

At least my new system will be able to run a top tier game for the first time ever.
