Damn, I was all about to "In", and then I realized it's the same weekend as commencement. And I've got to walk in my silly outfit for the fam. My silly outfit would have made a decent costume base, too.

Really Jonathon, let's review. Hanging out with IC people...or going to a ceremony that's going to be stupid long and boring....I think you might want to reconsider your choices. And it's my birthday!
ok so... *if* i have sufficient monies for a plane ticket and a costume after i pay my bills at the end of the month, and *if* plane ticket prices don't get super expensive in the meantime, i will be there.
I'm always amused by the fact that people bitch about buckleys artwork... yet most of these people give high praise to XKCD.
There's a vast chasm between "Bitching about Buckley's artwork" and giving "High praise to XKCD" - No one is praising Randall's stick figures, they're praising his ability to be humorous. Randall doesn't claim to be a great artist. He can actually write a punchline, and as frighteningly perverted as he can be he's actually funny.
B^Uckley, on the other hand, is a total hack who can't write a joke without completely mangling it. Most of the time that he's funny is completely unintentional. He actually thinks of himself as a skilled artist, enough that he enters drawing contests with entries that look worse than anything Liefeld ever put on paper.
The only good thing to come from Buckley's awful webcomic is the endless mocking of him and parodies of the "Loss" strip. Also, Zalgo.
I actually find Buckleys comic to be amusing for the most part. As for your opinion on the matter Meray, I'll take it seriously when you produce something better. I won't be holding my breath.
Found out yesterday that ICDB is on the same weekend as my family christmas. The date had to be set by my brother, who decided yesterday on that weekend, it's the only time he and his wife have to come, so our families built around that. Considering my future plans and how things are shaking up, this will most likely be my last time with collective family, at least for a long time. I do not want to miss it, especially considering I missed my family reunion for EPIC09.
Really sorry everyone, this bums me out a lot. I guess it's hope for winter blast for me.

Now the bar for criticism is that one has to be a creator? I can't have an opinion unless I'm making something? That's the argument you want to make?
And to be clear, did you just personally insult me because I mock Buckley?
Buckley really doesn't deserve nearly as much mockery as he receives, and said mockery ,is not an internet phenomenon that has seen much play around Icrontic, so you might just be barking up the wrong tree here, Ryan.
Sure you have the right to criticize, but you proly wont find too much support one way or the other around these parts.
Besides, Buckley was able to turn something he loves doing into his day-job using the internet. Sounds like something that a group of people I know are trying to make happen. Whether or not he's good at what he does, he made it work, and that's something.
Friendly disagreement are one thing. Personal attacks are another, especially when it's from people I've had drinks with.
If you felt that I was personally attacking you I'm sorry, I didn't mean it that I way. I just get rather upset when people personally attack and mock Buckley. Having been on the receiving end of harsh amounts mockery a large portion of my life (never send your kids to Catholic school people, it's hell) I get quite enraged by crap like this. If you don't like the comic, fine, I don't care, but you don't need to personally attack Buckley (which you and many other people do) because of it. Just don't read it.
So... just found out this event is the same weekend as Andrew's Graduation ceremony. It is that Saturday the 12th, at 10:00... so we just might be coming after that, possibly. I still don't have my work schedule yet, either.
Just wanted to give you a heads up. I think Andrew is more excited about this party than graduation! :P

Nonetheless, I think there's no similarity between schoolyard humiliation and what I was doing, but that's definitely subjective.
