File Syncronisation (Sync Toy Alternative)

I have been using Sync Toy on Vista for a while and it's been working a treat. I've moved over to Windows 7 and the version I have ceases to work properly - it's a well documented error with no decent solutions
Error, Cannot write to destination file. Access is denied (Exception from HRESULT...

As I said I've gogled it and found various people with the problems and a few fixes offered, none have worked.

So, can anyone reccomend any other decent synching software? - Doesn't need to be too clever - basically just keep about 4 folder pairs in synch once a day or there abouts.

I'm running Win 7 64bit.

    Ever tried SyncBack? They have a free version. Not sure if it works on Windows 7.

    Might check out DropBox? I personaly have not used it but I have co-workers that like it quite a bit.

    I've always really liked SyncBack, it's solid and blindingly fast in my experience. I know a lot of people who use RoboCopy as well.

    Dropbox is fantastic but it's probably not the right tool for this specific use, it's not really an alternative to Sync Toy.

    Never tried SyncBack, I'll give it a go. The website does look familiar now I look at it. As regards drop box, I did used this on vista with a mate and we shared stuff but as Chris says, a totally different tool really - useful never the less.

    I guess RoboCopy would be the more manual way to do it, perhaps I'll give that a look if SyncBack doesn't do what I want it to.

    I tried SyncBack yesterday at work as we were having issues with our tape drive so I did a quick manual backup - quite impressed from that side of things, I took a look at the syncronisation side of things too - looks decent. Just need to download and give it a go on Win7 now - but it certainly looks more comprehensive than SyncToy (perhaps the word Toy in the name is quite apt :p ) lol

    Oh yeah, SyncBack is way more customizable then SyncToy, it's definitely a step up from it. RoboCopy is more manual to setup but I've seen people do amazing and automated stuff with it once they have it tuned correctly. I've never invested enough time to learn it though, that and AutoHotkey have been on my list of utilities that look awesome but are too much trouble to learn until I desperately need them.

    I use AutoHotKey at work - give it a go - with 5 mins of reading the help file and doing a few very simple things it already comes into it's own :)
