Ok, so i bought Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition just over a week ago, brought it home and started playing over the Halloween break. It's safe to say that im totally addicted and I have already racked up just about 60 hours in gameplay.

Being rather unlucky I live in rural Ireland with no hope of broadband therefore no Xbox Live so games like this and Oblivion are lifesavers for myself.

Just wanted to start a discussion about everyone's favourite post apocalptia!!

Any opinions on fallout 3 people?

It was good! 3 months ago. :p

No, it's a great game. I rushed through it too quickly when I played... but that just means I can go back to it later. Right?

I banked about 50hrs into the original and traded it in towards GOTY. It's a fantastic game. I've finished the Brotherhood of Steel Quest and Operation Anchorage, which I actually enjoyed despite most people grumbling about it. Fallout 3 is an excellent game and in my eyes beats out Oblivion in almost every way.

It is a great game. I bought it almost a year ago and followed up with all of the DLCs. I have not enjoyed a game this much since Half Life 2, although the two games are different kinds.

I think if you have Broken Steel DC then you can replay, maybe it's not necessary though.

Broken Steel is probably the most significant add-on as it allows the game to continue beyond the original ending. It also opens up the level cap to 30 and adds new achievements. If you only have one add-on get this one.

I have yet to start either of them, I have finished Mothership Zeta which I enjoyed.

I think it and oblivion are the same basic idea but realised in two completely different directions, therefore I love them both equally but for different reasons.

I'm more fond of the Oblivion Stat leveling system.

    Possible Spoiler

BUT... In Fallout 3 I acidentally stumbled upon the Deathclaw Sanctuary at Lvl 15-16, leaving the fight inside seemingly impossible, but using stealth I set up bottle cap mines in natural bottlenecks and used this in combination with a sneak attack from the hunting rifle and a short burst from the chinese assault rifle to work my way through the cave. Not only was I genuinely absorbed and completely terrified but I also found Vengeance. One of my favourite experiences in a long time.

I played about thirty-three hours of Fallout 3 before beating it, meaning I rushed through it as well. I loved every moment of it, and this even after being a snobby elitist about Fallout 1 & 2 as well as thinking the ending for Fallout 3 boned it big time.

However, I never bought it which means that I'm incredibly jazzed about buying the GOTY edition, especially since I have not yet played any of the downloadable content!

So far I love Fallout 3, I haven't even finished a single run through it without any DLC but I'm going after a ton of the side stuff, totally awesome game. Takes. So. Long. Though.

It does take an extreme lenghtof time, notto it's detriment though! =D Favourite quest?

I liked the variety of the Survival Guide Quest

The survival Quests were definitely fun if not silly. Probably my favorite stock quest was probably the Paradise Falls story line. Taking out those slavers was so satisfying.

I enjoyed exploring tis vaults, went into a vault that had an infected air conditioning system that caused you to hallucinate and it cast everything in a eerie blue hue, found it discomforting playing it at night, very enjoyable

Yeah, I fell ni love with this game. My characters usually get to lvl 13-15 before I scrap them and start new ones, going in different directions. I have all the DLC's, and I love most of them. I kinda enjoyed Operation Anchorage, even though I just rushed through it.
For instance I have one who saved megaton and one who blew it up, I just finished the pitt, was ok, but not really a yahoo experience for me. I saved the baby and freed the slaves. Now I wanna go again, but this time I'll try to side with the slavers.

Fallout 3 is one of my favorites. I actually overplayed it :( I haven't picked it up in months. I wish it had co-op multiplayer. Borderlands is fun, but in terms of depth of story...FO3 is the grand canyon and Borderlands is a puddle.

I like playing it with a strict no-death and no-loadgame-my-way-out-of-mistakes rule. When a character dies I start over. Took longer to beat it that way, made it last. There's still a ton of stuff I haven't explored, though. THe world for that game is YUUUUUGE.

I generally don't play an evil character at all, but on one playthrough I did get the dream crusher perk. You do that by talking Moira Brown out of finishing her book. She's listless and unmotivated for the whole game after that, it's kinda funny :D
