Friggin New Games

As someone who has a few-years-old, not top of the line PC, a DS phat, and no other gaming systems, i'm getting stupidly jealous and angry at all the great-looking new games out now. Dragon Age, Torchlight, Modern Warfare 2, ODST, L4D2, etc. etc. etc.

DAMMIT VIDEO GAME COMPANIES, MAKE GAMES THAT RUN ON OLDER PCs!

I know it's sort of a dumb argument to make, but seriously. I hate that almost games are either too new to run on my sub-par hardware, or are to old to work with Windows 7 (See: SimCity 2000, The Sims, and KOTOR, which I bought this week off steam AND IT TURNS OUT IT DOESNT WORK IN WINDOWS 7. And woo, it's a steam game, so I can't return it to a store or anything like that. Ghaaaa, this is bullshit.

It's almost enough to get me to go fire up WoW again. (Which would be a TERRIBLE idea, seeing as it's mid-semester).

(On the plus side, I am so frigging pumped for Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver. Spring 2010, hurry up!)

So, turns out that after a little wandering around the internet to the sites of these companies and sighing lustfully after each game...it turns out that Torchlight WORKS ON MY COMPUTER. Spectacularly, actually! The game is designed to run everywhere, even netbooks (the game settings go "Highest, High, Medium, Low, Netbook" :P).

So I just spent an hour playing Torchlight. :P

    So...yeah.

(And apparently, allthough I initially ignored Torchlight because it was being published by Perfect World, a shitty Chinese MMO company, it was actually created by ex-Blizzard employees...and it shows. In a good way. Hell yes.)
