Sony HDD mod

I have an old 80gb sony giga vault. I have since removed the battery to run strait from the power cord.
Now here is the kicker. Is there a way to modify it so it can run off the usb.

    USB wont power it. You could put a external molex connector on your case so you could run power out to a device.
