This is a Dell dimnsion 8110 and has xp home on it. When you try to boot up
you get the BSOD.
Here's what it say
stop: 0X0000007E (0XC0000005, 0XF86B6383, 0XF8B4E510, 0XF8B4E20C)

atapi.sys - Address F86B6383 base at F86A0000, DateStamp 41107b4d

I tried to boot into safe mode and no luck same error.
Tried to start last know good configuration ...... nope no good
I tried to reset the bios and still nothing.
Don't know what to try next
I did try to boot off the CD rom and that don't happen it goes right to the
hard drive what I was trying to do with the CD rom is to boot up with Bart PE.
I figure check what I can with that but it won't boot off the CD rom
Ok that's all I did

Dog you're really in jail if you can't boot off a CD. On a Dell, you hit F12 at the start, then even after you choose the CD as the boot device, it's easy to miss (I've done it at least 10 times) that it will soon ask you to hit any key to boot from the CD.

Whether you're using Barts or some other boot CD, I think you have to try a manual System Restore to see if you can get a registry in there that works.

I know there are some trojans that attack atapi.sys and make them unbootable. A manual system restore point might be your only hope.
