Moving and existing Windows install onto a RAID array

edited January 2004 in Hardware
My HDD (WD800JB) just went down in price by leaps and bounds. I'm thinking of picking another up, getting SATA/PATA converters, and RAID 0'in it up all in heah!

But I really, really don't want to have to reinstall EVERYTHING. Could I just make an image of my HDD as it is now (using Ghost) onto another computer over the network, creating the array, and then ghosting the array using the original backed-up image?

From what I gatherd from your post, you would be running RAID-0 without a back-up drive. That would not be a good idea so I would say to get 2 new drives if you can and then just Ghost your system to the array and update your back-up on a regular basis. you would also need to change your boot order from IDE 0 to SCSI to boot from the array. RAID-0 without a back-up would be like going on a date without putting on clean underwear first! ;)
