csrss.exe

Hi,

I noticed recently that my computer has been running quite slowly recently. It is an Acer Aspire 5536G (2Ghz processor and 4GB ram) so really shouldn't be so slow. It is running Vista.

In Task Manager, I noticed that I have 2 occurances of csrss.exe running on my machine. I did a search for it, and found two csrss.exe files, two csrss.exe.mui files, and something called x86_microsoft-windows-csrss_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6001.18000_none_58e3e3d7e415ae4c_csrss.exe_06529458 in c\windows\winsxs\backup.

I have McAfee and AVG antivirus. I scanned each above file separately with McAfee but it found no problem with these files.

I now have no idea what to do, or if this is even the problem

If anyone could help, it would be most appreciated!

They are probably backup files.

It happened to me, but in my case the antivirus did discover some viruses on my pc. So, probably this was the problem.
