Server closet substitute or diy

I've got a server, firewall, ups and a switch. I also have very small rooms in my house. I'd like to keep this stuff in my basement instead of in my small office. Only problem with the basement is that i share it with my renter. Now I'm not terribly concerned about the renter making off with my stuff... but concerned enough. I'd feel better with "out of sight" storage and maybe locked storage just to slow down the thief a little bit.

Now, I know a server cabinet/closet/rack is the right approach.. but i'm cheap and don't really need a one. I'd love to just have a sturdy locker type shelf system with ventilation and a place for my cords to escape... doesn't have to be tall. My basement is 5 ft tall.

My other alternative is to build one.

I'd love to hear some creative ideas.
