Attn Cataners: Asobrain
I mentioned this during TF2, but I doubt anyone had time to write the URL down at the time, and not all the Cataners were in there, so here's this:
Whilst looking for a new online game to play with The Mitey Worriers On Tuesday evening (Our regular DDO session was canceled due to boat), we stumbled upon asobrain.com
Asobrain has four Java games available to play for free in ranked and unranked rooms. Two of them are crap, but the other two are Settlers of Catan and Carcassonne (albeit with different names and art, since they are not official versions). The graphics aren't pretty, I'm not gonna lie, but the interface is intuitive, and Zantian, CrazyJoe, and I found it very easy to get into, especially using skype for table-talk.
It also has both expansions, and a bunch of custom maps, but unfortunately no 5-6 player mode.

I think the difference is two-fold. Xbox players are more likely to be either slow players or asshats (not that asobrain doesn't have some of those also, just not as many), and asobrain is on the PC, which makes it easier in a myriad of ways. The only real advantage that the Xbox version has is slick graphics.
I'm not sure I can bring myself to install Java just for this though, does it still sink it's hooks into your system the way it used to?
