Inspiron 531 sata ports VS. EVGA GTX 260

edited February 2010 in Hardware
I was given a EVGA GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked video card. The issue at hand is I have a Dell Inspiron 531 computer. The card fits just fine in the case but it seems to cover some of the SATA ports. I have 2 CD ROMS and 1 HDD installed at the moment. There are a total of 4 SATA ports. I just wanted to know if anyone else has done this install and or what they did to get around this. I have a 650 watt power supply so if I can find a fix for this I will be golden. But if I need to buy another motherboard I will but I not sure which one will work in this case.

Have you looked into using 90 degree SATA cables?

I picked up 2 to test that tonight. I may have to lose one of the CD ROMS which is no biggie. I will update after that. I hope to find someone that has this card installed in a 531 and is working with no problems. It would make me feel better.

It looks like the 90 degree SATA cables are going to work just fine.
