Recommendations for Mini Display

I have a 46" HDTV and a 13" Macbook Pro. I'd like to use them together every now and then; one example being streaming a Netflix movie on my Mac and watching it on the TV, but there will be several other uses for it coming soon.
I wanted to ask my fellow geeks what is the best way to do this in quality/dollar units.
