WRT54G Wireless Linksys Router Problem!

Ok, so I go to my routers IP address. Yes...I checked if it was correct under my /run /cmd /ipconfig - 198.162.1.1 - So after I type it into my internet explorer browser a box to enter my username and password come up. So I typed in the default password (admin) and left the username blank, and when I click OK the same box comes back up clear and if I keep entering it in and repeating that process. It will eventually come to a 401 Unauthorized page...Now about a week ago this worked fine...

And YES I did unplug my router trying to reset it and it still does not work.

And YES I did about 3 virus and spyware checks..so im pretty sure it's not a virus...

Any Suggestions? Please help! Thanks.

On the back of those WRT54G's there is a small pin hole reset. With the POWER ON hold done the reset button with a paper clip for 30 - 60 seconds. This will set all settings back to factory default, including Username and Password. Also, check to be sure but default U/P is admin/admin.
