Problems with Windows Update settings in Windows 7

So, I normally turn off Automatic Updates in Windows Update (I check manually every few days). I had it turned off, and then I installed Office...which re-enabled them. And now I can't turn them off again, as it has that option greyed out: http://i.imgur.com/3nhMX.png

I can't find an answer on the internets, any help?

Are you an administrator there? What do you see under the more information link? That may help.

I am an administrator. At least, my user account on the computer is (it's also the only user account here).

More Information just gives me this help file:
Why won't Windows allow me to change a system setting?

If your computer is part of a network at an organization such as a school, government agency, or business, your organization's system administrator might have disabled or even removed certain settings by using Group Policy. Group Policy is a feature of Windows that lets system administrators manage users' access to Windows features. If you suspect that Group Policy is preventing you from changing a setting that you need to access, contact your system administrator.

If your computer isn't part of a network, a user with administrator privileges might have modified Group Policy on your computer to remove access to the settings. In this case, contact the administrator to modify the settings you'd like to change.

For more in-depth technical information about Group Policy, go to the Microsoft website for IT professionals.

EDIT: looking at the group policy editor now... It's a huge Charley Foxtrot of epic proportions. I can't figure out where any relevant settings are!

Have you added your computer to a domain or workgroup which has group policy? If you have, try removing your computer from the domain or workgroup. That should clear the settings.
