    Cause we all love having our perfectly functional currency converted to a completely pointless and arbitrary system (suckbox live).

    Though from a marketing standpoint, I totally understand their intentions. Higher conversion rates are awesome... sucks when it makes the consumer feel like a chump though.

    Actually in some ways this is a very good idea, at least from a developer's standpoint. Instead of taking individual micro-transactions that each take a large hit from a credit card company, the customer buys a bulk of credits all at once on a single credit card transaction. Then the micro-transactions go on from there without having that credit card fee hit on every 50-cent avatar item in a game like Farmville.
