This is some kind of joke right? Tell me it's a bad parody or an early April fools joke or something! Tell me that the people in charge of the new Prince of Persia game are not this dumb!
I was excited when I saw the headline. A return to the roots of PoP would be a great thing indeed, but then I see: They think that "Sands of Time" is the 'roots' of Prince of Persia!
Seriously? Sands of Fucking Time?!
The real roots of Prince of Persia are deep in my childhood, where I spent a good part of five years trying to beat eleven levels in under 60 minutes and where the Prince was 2D and could be controlled with only five buttons.
Sands of Time was a piece of crap with the Prince's name on it. Sands of Time was trite nonsense that I picked up and played for two or three afternoons, and then never looked at again.
Yeah, there was a updated retro version on Xbox Live, I played that one, enjoyed it for what it was.
I'm feeling ya. Saying that the Sands of time is the root of the Prince of Persia franchise would be kind of like saying Sonic adventure is the genesis of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Exactly, and if the people in charge of new Sonic games thought that were true, real Sonic fans would cry out in anguish, just as I have done this day.
I liked the original PoP, but I liked sands of time too. I have no complaints with this so long as they don't have the angsty prince from Warrior Within or the slightly insane Prince from Two Thrones.

What am I missing?
