Account Compromised

Hey,

My account was compromised last night. Please let me know what was looted from the guild bank so I can include them in the report. Also, count me out of raiding for awhile. Scott will keep you guys posted as I attempt to recover my gear/money/materials.

Also, just so you know, I am not the victim of social engineering and have no viruses that come up on my scanner. I have only ever used Curse client to install add-ons and as a general rule am pretty careful about my shit and don't install many apps at all. However, my password was weak and I use my account email address at lots of sites on the web. Anne suggested a complete system reinstall, which I will think about.

I will be getting a key fob .... and yes I feel shitty. Sorry.

Nothing out of the Guild bank at this time, as long as Blizz have locked it down, we shouldn't have a problem there.

EDIT: I didn't know I could do it, but I removed Ary from the guild, they won't get anything now.

FWIW: World of Warcraft keyloggers are virtually never detected by AV programs. WoW players are a comparatively small demographic, and the number of infected players is a small fraction of that. Combine this obscenely small figure with the vast number of keylogging strains, it's virtually impossible (not to mention financially questionable) to research and implement signatures for them.

Your PW likely got brute forced, rather than keylogged.
