Those rumors also are tied to performance of the 2 cards to be 5-10% faster than ATI's current offerings. But again those are rumors as well.
BSN has it that the 512 cards will find their way to the Quadro line of things which would still mean the G100 series has 512 core cards just not in the current enthusiast release. Once again all rumors.
Also more rumors are surrounding the cards price points $449-499. if those are the true prices than Nvidia might just have some good ole hot cards.
