Ordering tonight or tomorrow:

2x Hitachi 160GB SATA

I'll be using onboard NF7-S SATA controller. Power adapters and cables are covered :)

Is there anything I'm missing? Tell me if those HDDs aren't the ones to get or anything...

I think when I get the drives, I'll be able to setup the array.. but if not I'll be checkin' here ;)

TIA,
-Park

Yep. Raid is awesome, imo. I've been tinkering around with my setup for 2 mnths now, and I gotta tell ya, a/v authoring has never been faster. I'm also considering getting 2 more raptors and adding it to the array (4-disk) for more bandwidth. I hope you've got adequate backup routines.

Yup, I'm going to continue to use my current 80GB EIDE for backups :)

    Sweet.

If you're planning on a reinstallation of your o/s, you may want to prepare a disk that contains the neccessary Raid drivers (make sure they're o/s specific.) Press F6 as soon as the Windows installation media prompts you to (unless you've got an unattended install/slipstreamed,) and partition your drives the way you want to. You can adjust the cluster sizes later with Partition Magic or something for optimization reasons.

Good luck with the installation! Hope all goes well :)
