"Suspended to Disk Files"

edited March 2010 in Science & Tech
Help ME Someone! Everytime I try to start my laptop the Windows Xp will not start up. I keep seeing this message and also "Suspended to Disk File Missing".
I do not have any of the original software for this laptop, got it second hand...
Any suggestions? Hello, anyone?
Thanks A 100%

Wonder if it hibernated and the file telling it what it should reload into RAM went missing.

Try booting it again, and when it fails, hold down the power button for at least 10 seconds until you notice the laptop fully shut down. Remove the battery and any power adapter that's attached and let it sit for a little while. Then plug the adapter back in and try booting again - with any luck, that series has done a hard reboot on the machine, which will stop it from trying to resume from hibernate and should just start a normal boot process.
