Thinking of upgrading.

Here is my scenario, I'm thinking of upgrading, but not sure if its worth it.

I've had a AMD Phenom 9950 BE installed on a AM3/DDR2 board. Other than it jumping 20+ degrees when gaming system taxing games (idles at ~38°C and gets up to ~62°C with stock HSF), its been fine and really don't have a reason to upgrade. Except that I have about a $200 PP balance thats been telling me to shop around.

Should I go for:

Phenom II 1055 which I wouldn't mind getting just for the shits and giggles of having it.

Phenom II 965 because it would be a better gaming processor or even something lower.

Neither, wait for my system to melt down.

If you don't do media encoding or 3D rendering, the 965 is the only worthy upgrade. Then again, we're so close to the release of new platforms from AMD and Intel that I would just hold out until then.
