How should I install W/7 Partition or not

I have read where people install the OS on a partitioned part of the harddrive keeping it seperate from the loaded programs.What are the advantages and disadvantages to this?

    Easier to reinstall, fewer chances of a Windows disaster affecting your programs and data.

    No real disadvantages I can think of.

    what size partition 4 w/7?
